If you ever wondered where Checkers games come from, I found it! Today we visited an honest-to-goodness toy factory. This is a relatively small operation that makes mostly low cost plastic toys and games. The raw material comes in at the first floor, where it's then molded into pieces, and then assembled, packaged and crated on each of the floors above. The workers, who are mostly women who have come from the country-side, are provided housing basically on-site, and receive wages for each piece produced (not by the hour) We also had a lovely Chinese style lunch. The highlight of that was the fresh mandarin oranges. So tasty! I wish we had those at home.
Thank You from The Ransoms!
